Different bodies from the United States have come out in support of Juan Guaido's call for an uprising in Venezuela.
The first show of support came from U.S Vice President, Michael Pence who tweeted,"To @jguaido (Juan Guaido), the National Assembly and all the freedom-loving people of Venezuela who are taking to the streets today in #operacionlibertad—Estamos con ustedes! We are with you! America will stand with you until freedom & democracy are restored. Vayan con dios! #FreeVenezuela."
The US Treasury also released a brief statement. The explained that the US stands with Guaido and the people of Venezuela. They also added that the US and their allies stand ready to "leverage the tools of the international financial community to help swiftly restart Venezuela's economy."
The self proclaimed leader's first call came last night as he was surrounded by what appeared to be Venezuelan military personnel, supposedly in support of his initiative.
Since then, chaos has erupted in different parts of Venezuela with multiple clashes becoming violent. So far, there are no reports of fatalities stemming from the uprising.
