Min. Of Works Coastal Protection Unit

Well the rain season is upon us, the Met Office warned of a couple tropical waves affecting the country between today and tomorrow. For those living in coastal areas and communities prone to flooding, there may be a reason to be concerned.

The Coastal Protection Unit aims to combat to mitigate the risks of coastal erosion and flooding. Together with their stakeholders, the unit is seeking to bring some much needed relief to communities.

The unit which operates under the Ministry of Works and Transport has launched a Comprehensive National Coastal Monitoring Programme. We are joined on set by Maritsa Harry- Project Research Officer, CPU Dr. Rahanna Juman- Institute of Marine Affairs and Candice Gray-Bernard Director of the CPU.

PM Energy Trip

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says his 10-day trip to London, the Netherlands and Houston to meet with top energy company executives has yielded results that will bring more oil and gas revenues to Trinidad and Tobago. This also includes better terms for Atlantic LNG Train 1 and better arrangements for LNG Trains 2, 3 and 4. He said the benefits to the treasury could come on stream before the end of fiscal 2019.
