Pregnant women have contracted COVID-19 and many have succumbed to the virus thankfully, this has not been the case locally.
However, as several pregnant women in this country also have the virus, the Ministry of Health says it's not a death sentence as pregnant women have been proven to have a higher risk of COVID mortality.
No birth defects or other risks to unborn babies have been reported and mothers who contract COVID-19 are advised to continue meeting their babies' nutritional needs.
