Police Operation in Charguaramas

As part of a joint-exercise, members of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Customs and Excise Division, and the Regiment are removing illegal structures from Alcan Bay, Chaguaramas.

The exercise began just after five, this morning, according to fishermen. Speaking anonymously, several fishermen said they weren't targeted but rather those who were engaging in illegal activities.

There were also unconfirmed reports that several Venezuelan nationals were held by Customs.

We'll have more in this story as information comes to hand.
