Law Association to Integrity Commission: Do something

THE Integrity Commission appears to be in jeopardy as a second member of the five-member body has resigned.

Its deputy chairman Sebastian Ventour confirmed to TV6 News this afternoon that he has submitted his letter of resignation.

His resignation comes on the heels of the departure of Dr Shelley-Anne Lalchan who quit after the commission terminated its investigation of the alleged involvement of Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar and Cabinet members in the e-mailgate affair.

On Tuesday, the commission issued a letter to Israel Khan, SC, which stated it had terminated its investigation into the e-mailgate affair. Khan is the attorney for Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and former attorney general Anand Ramlogan.

Today, Ventour said he did not know about letter being dispatched to the prime minister about the end of Integrity Commission probe until AFTER it went public.
