Mourners who attended today's state funeral spoke with TV6 News to share their personal reflections on his life.

Kamla Persad-Bissessar: "I would like to suggest or recommend in tribute to him his legacy should be in education, people speak of culture that's great, perhaps a chair at the university or a scholarship fund because tremendous academic."

Big Mike Antoine: "He really loved the culture, pan, soca, you could find him there and culture to him is like culture to me because that's all i do."

Michaella Frederick; Information Officer to President Richards: "As a young professional coming up, he was very merciful, a teacher at his core, and he took a genuine interest in young people, so even though working in a place like that it's always OJT he was gracious in giving me room to grow."

The wife of former president Noor Hassanali, Mrs. Zalayhar Hassanali, extender her sympathies to Professor Richards' wife."

"It was a beautiful service today and i think that will give her comfort and pleasant memories of him and the service.
