Billions of dollars have been lost in labour productivity over the years due to the murder rate says one economist.

He questions the Finance Minister's declaration of a turnaround in the economy without mentioning the murder rate.

But the CEO of the American Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago has given the Government some credit for a level of stabilisation of the economy.

They spoke at the Chamber's analysis of the Mid-Year Review of the Budget on Monday.
