As a very shy and introspective child, I never imagined that I would end up in front of a television screen, much less on a daily basis. However, destiny decided otherwise.

After completing my communications degree at FIU, in Florida, I returned home. Fortunately, within six months, I was offered a job at CCN TV6. I didn't think twice.

Starting, initially as a junior broadcast journalist, I relished the challenge. Working hard for eighteen months, I began writing more and more for the 7 pm newscast, until I was granted a promotion by my first boss, Dominic Kalipersad.

Up until this day, I have been very blessed to be able to share my stories with others. Even though there are many challenges, that joy keeps me going. My goal is not to achieve fame, but to use my gift to change people's lives for the better.

Writing is my passion.

Helping others is my purpose.

Love and God are my guides.

As Trinidad and Tobago look for their first points of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, their Caribbean neighbours Jamaica got off to a winning start on Monday.
