Moves are afoot to grant the Police Commissioner command over precepted Defence Force personnel removing the role of the Minister of National Security in commanding the Defence Force.

According to the Leader of Government Business- Dr. Roodal Moonial, the Defence Force members will also fall under the jurisdiction of the Police Complaints Authority...should abuse occur.

Despite assuring members of the media that the move will effectively utilise a fraction of the five-thousand member Regiment Force...it appears that the Government is yet to sell the idea to members of the Police Service.
