BEETHAM SHOOTING

 A Beetham man was fatally shot and his home firebombed, just after dozens of police officers and soldiers completed a four-hour lockdown of the area.

Investigators believe, the armed assailants perceived the victim to be a police informant. The early morning raid saw more than three dozen taken into police custody, and a small quantum of ammunition seized.
