Hackett snatches 200m final berth

By Donstan Bonn

Semoy Hackett qualified for the women's 200 metres final when she copped third place in the second semifinal in 22.55 seconds on Tuesday.

The top two positions were filled by the USA's Allyson Felix (22.31) and Murielle Ahoure of the Ivory Coast (22.49)

Though she missed out on one of the two automatic qualifying spots, her time, which equaled her own national record, saw she grab one of the two "fastest loser" berth.

Hackett faces the starter in the championship race on Wednesday at 4.00 p.m.
